Emma Canter

Director, Human Resources

Emma Canter is Director, Human Resources for Direct Energy Business. As such, she is responsible for supporting the growth and development of the Direct Energy Business culture and its employees and upholding the Centrica Leadership Behaviors throughout the organization. She favors an open and honest approach to motivate and encourage team members in our drive to be the best in the business.

Emma joined Direct Energy Business in 2009 from British Gas Energy, also part of the Centrica plc family. At British Gas Energy she held the positions of Head of People Development where she led and facilitated the development of employees’ work-related capability at an individual, team and organizational level. Prior to that, she was Human Resources Business Partner at British Gas Business where she was an integral part of the management team and worked toward enhancing the culture and improving employee engagement.

Emma holds an Honors BA in Business and Management from Oxford Brookes University.
