Stephane Kirkland

Vice President, Small Business, Strategy and Solutions

Stephane Kirkland is Vice President, Small Business, Solutions and Strategy for Direct Energy Business. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing the team that serves more than 180,000 small business customers across the U.S. and Canada and for Direct Energy Business Solutions, which includes energy management and demand response offerings. In addition, he is also responsible for the company’s strategy and acquisitions.

Stephane has been with Centrica since 2002.  Prior to coming to North America, he served as Head of European Business Development in Paris, France.  He was also a non-executive member of the board of SPE, Centrica's Belgian JV.  Previous to that, he held roles in corporate strategy and business development at Centrica’s headquarters in Windsor, UK.

Stephane started his career as an architect, founding and managing his own architecture firm near Toulouse, France.  Before joining Centrica in 2002, he was a strategy consultant at Marakon Associates.

Stephane has degrees in architecture and art history from the University of Paris, as well as an MBA from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
