Paul Dobson

Senior Vice President, Pricing & Operations

Paul Dobson is Senior Vice President, Pricing & Operations for Direct Energy Business where he is responsible for the pricing, booking and enrollments, billing, collections, remittance and customer care departments. He is also responsible for entering new markets, new product development and evaluating non-standard transactions.

Paul joined Direct Energy in 2003 as Vice President of Finance & Operations for Canada East, which included both the downstream residential energy and home services businesses. In 2005, Paul and his family relocated to the UK where he took up the post of Finance Director, British Gas Business (BGB). Paul relocated back to North America in 2008, taking up the position of Senior Vice President, Finance for Direct Energy Business in Pittsburgh. In 2009, Paul assumed responsibility for the pricing and products teams.

Before joining Direct Energy, Paul worked at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) for 10 years in various financial roles, including VP and CFO of CIBC’s U.S. retail bank. Paul started his career at YTV Canada, a start-up cable television station in Toronto, where he was the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis.

Paul, a Certified Management Accountant, earned an Honours B.A. from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Paul and his wife Linda live in Pittsburgh with their two sons.
